12th July 2023

Dear Parent/Carer,

As you have been previously informed, the school will be closed to all Year 7, 8 and 9 pupils on Thursday 13th July 2023 due to industrial strike action by members of the NASUWT Cymru Teachers’ Union. As the school is unable to maintain our usual teaching and learning provision this Thursday, I am therefore writing to you to outline the work that pupils should study at home during the day. Pupils should organise their own learning at home and prioritise any work that they already have to complete, such as homework or coursework tasks. In addition, a list of resources for each year group are outlined below to support pupils with remote learning on Thursday. I would also remind parents and carers that the school will be open as usual for Year 10 pupils and for pupils in our Specialist Teaching Facility (STF).

  • Year 7 – Pupils to work on Gwaith Cartref i Bawb Science & Technology home learning project (Living Things). Pupils can access their work booklet on Microsoft Teams and resources to support learning can be found here: LINK
  • Year 8 – Pupils to work on Gwaith Cartref i Bawb Languages home learning project (Board Games). Pupils can submit work through their class Team on Microsoft Teams and resources to support learning can be found here: LINK
  • Year 9 – Pupils to work on Gwaith Cartref i Bawb Health & Well-being home learning project (Healthy Lifestyle). Pupils can access their work booklet on Microsoft Teams and resources to support learning can be found here: LINK

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the school. Your continued support is valued and appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Mr A Owens
Deputy Headteacher
