Re: Year 11 GCSE Results Day

Wednesday 14th July 2021

Dear Parent/Carer,

As you are aware, GCSE results day for Year 11 pupils is on Thursday 12th August. Your child will have received their provisional Centre Determined Grades on Friday 18th June. However, the official GCSE results day will provide your child with their final GCSE and vocational results for 2021.

We will be inviting pupils into school to collect their results in person, as we normally would. Your child will have the option of attending school to collect results or to receive results electronically via email. Please complete the online survey to let us know which option you would prefer. It is important that you complete the form so that we can organise results day effectively. If you wish for your child’s results to be sent electronically, please enter the email address when completing the form. The link to the form is: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=Ug4_TzS3ZEGUCRtgHRR5k27oAdQl2CpOkOmlWfUF5nFUNUVETTlKU0dPMlhaV0lCM0dOSDhIRkJKVC4u

As we are planning to open our doors to pupils on results day, we will continue to follow the hierarchy of control measures that we have had in place throughout the school year. Some of these measures include a one-way system and social distancing in line with current Welsh Government and Public Health Wales guidance. To manage social distancing safely and effectively, we will be inviting pupils and parents/carers in to school at designated time slots. Below is a timetable that outlines the time slot for each form class to arrive at school to collect their GCSE results. One parent/carer will be able to accompany their child if they wish to do so. It is essential that you adhere to the times allocated below as you will not be able to enter the school and collect results outside of these times.

9.00 – 9.30 amSports Hall11P, 11O, 11N
9.30 – 10.00 amSports Hall11T, 11I, 11S

We will be operating a one-way queueing system and all visitors must enter the school via the leisure centre entrance. Once your child has entered the main building they will be directed to the sports hall. Once your child has collected their results they must exit the building as soon as possible using the designated fire exits. We ask for visitors to leave the school site as soon as possible and to not gather at entrance gates or doorways.

We must remind you that if your child has coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms, or if someone in their household has symptoms, they must not attend school to collect results. In this instance we can arrange for the results to be sent electronically.

We are looking forward to welcoming our Year 11 pupils into school again to share their special moment of receiving a successful set of examination results.

If you have any queries regarding results day, please get in touch with the school.

Yours sincerely,

Mr. A. Owens

Deputy Headteacher
