14th December 2023

Dear Parent/Carer,

Last week of term arrangements

As we begin the last week of this calendar year, we would just like to provide an update on arrangements for the last week of term.

On Tuesday 19h December we are running our end of term school trips. Pupils can wear non-uniform for this event. For Year 11 pupils they will be attending Gower College on this day and must wear their normal school uniform.

Christmas dinner will take place in the Canteen on Wednesday, 20th December, so please ensure your child’s account has sufficient funds.

Thursday, 21st December, will be a regular school day, and all pupils are expected to attend in the appropriate school uniform. Additionally, our Christmas Concert will take place from 6.00-8.00pm in the main hall, promising a delightful evening. Tickets will be available at the door for only £2.00.

Friday 22nd December we will be allowing pupils to wear Christmas jumpers and we are suggesting a voluntary donation of £1 for Save the Children. You can donate to the Just Giving page accessible here:

https://christmas.savethechildren.org.uk/fundraising/CJD230039910

Alternatively, your child can bring in the amount they wish to donate. Please ensure they bring the correct amount as we will be unable to give change.

We do wish to emphasise the following guidance when pupils are attending school events in non-uniform:

  • Pupils need to dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Pupils should wear appropriate clothing for the setting g. no facial piercings will be permitted, earrings to be a single stud only in each ear and not exposing midriffs.
  • The school’s decisions are final on what is deemed acceptable.

If your child arrives to school in clothing deemed inappropriate, they will be asked to change into more appropriate clothing. If they are unable to do so before the buses leave for the trips, they will not be able to attend.

Thank you for all your support this term and I hope you and your families have a well-deserved relaxing Christmas break.

Yours sincerely

Mr Christopher Mitchell
