Dear Parent/Carer,
The NASUWT teaching union has informed Swansea Council that it intends to stage localised industrial strike action at secondary schools in Swansea on Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th September 2023.
We have been informed by the council that they are continuing dialogue with the union to try to avert this action but feel we need to give you advance notice so that you can make alternative arrangements should it take place.
If the strike proceeds next Tuesday and Wednesday the school will be closed to Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 pupils; the school will remain open for Year 11 and STF pupils.
This decision has been informed by a thorough risk assessment and is mainly due to a significant number of mainstream staff being members of the NASUWT. If the situation changes, we shall inform you as soon as possible.
Currently, we have not been informed of any further planned industrial strike action. Please contact the school if you have any queries.
