12th September 2023

Dear Parent/Carer,

As previously informed, the school will be closed to all pupils except for Year 11 on Wednesday 13th September due to industrial strike action by members of the NASUWT Cymru Teachers’ Union. As the school is unable to maintain our usual teaching and learning provision this Wednesday, I am therefore writing to you to outline the work that pupils should study at home during the day. Pupils should organise their own learning at home and prioritise any work that they already have to complete, such as homework or coursework tasks. In addition, a list of resources for each year group are outlined below to support your child with remote learning on Wednesday. I would also remind parents and carers that the school will be open as usual for Year 11 pupils and for pupils in our Specialist Teaching Facility (STF).

  • Year 7 – Pupils to work on Gwaith Cartref i Bawb Humanities home learning project (Castles & Churches). Pupils can access their work booklet on Microsoft Teams and resources to support learning can be found here: LINK
  • Year 8 – Pupils to work on Gwaith Cartref i Bawb Science & Technology home learning project (Mugs project). Pupils can submit work through their class Team on Microsoft Teams and resources to support learning can be found here: LINK
  • Year 9 – Pupils to work on Gwaith Cartref i Bawb Science & Technology home learning project (Influencers). Pupils can access their work booklet on Microsoft Teams and resources to support learning can be found here: LINK
  • Year 10 – Pupils to work on the Welsh Baccalaureate Enterprise Challenge. Pupils are currently working on Task 1 Skills Audit. Pupils can access their work booklet on Microsoft Teams and resources to support learning can be found here: LINK

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the school. Your continued support is valued and appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Mr D Lewis
