Extra Curricular

It has been great to see pupils enjoy a range of extra-curricular activities this term, the choice is continuing to grow and can be found here: https://pontcomp.co.uk/extra-curricular-timetable/. It is worth checking from time to time as new clubs are added.

Year 10 and 11 Preparation for Exams

Year 10 and 11 parents/carers should have received a letter last week explaining what resources, and additional revision sessions are currently being made available to help pupils prepare for their forthcoming GCSEs. The Easter holidays present an excellent opportunity to revise in preparation for these exams, this important information can be found here: https://pontcomp.co.uk/2023/03/24/revision-resources-exam-information/

Over the last few months Years 9, 10 and 11 have all sat mock exams in school. External invigilators remarked on how maturely pupils conducted themselves throughout. Overall, pupils’ attitudes and preparation for exams have been excellent, we appreciate all that you do at home to support your child prepare successfully for their examinations.

Uniform

Please reinforce the following at home:

  • Leggings / jeggings are not allowed;
  • Jewellery is limited to one pair of stud earrings.

Full details regarding uniform can be found here: https://pontcomp.co.uk/uniform/

All weather 2G pitch

We are hoping to officially open our 2G pitch on Thursday 20th April, however, the recent poor weather may delay the opening slightly. We are extremely excited about the imminent opening of this new addition, to the school, which will be used both during school hours and leased out for community use outside of school hours. We shall use our Twitter account to celebrate its opening with you very soon.

Congratulations to Mrs. Rachel Thomas who Governors appointed yesterday as Deputy Headteacher, from Assistant Headteacher. Mrs. Thomas has worked successfully in many roles in the school over several years and will continue to work in the best interests of all pupils, and the wider school community, in her new role.

Your continued parental support regarding uniform and generally preparing pupils for learning is very much appreciated, it contributes enormously to the smooth running and success of the school. Finally, I would also like to thank staff for their commitment and dedication throughout this term. Please contact the school if you would like any further clarification. We look forward to welcoming back all pupils after the Easter break.

Yours sincerely,

Mr. Gareth Rees
Headteacher
