Dear Parent/Carer,

Firstly, I would like to thank you for your continued support in ensuring standards of uniform are kept high across the school. With this academic year imminently coming to a close and the new academic year fast approaching, I would like to share some important information with regards to uniform with you.

Uniform policy

Our uniform policy can be accessed via the link found here:  https://pontcomp.co.uk/uniform/

Please note there are no adaptations to this uniform policy from September. Therefore, we expect all pupils in the correct uniform. If for any reason, there is an issue in ensuring this please contact your child’s form tutor/Progress Manager in the first instance. I wish to draw particular attention to footwear which must be black, leather and polishable. Also please note only trousers or a skirt of an appropriate length maybe worn, leggings are not permitted and we may contact you to provide appropriate clothing if your child arrives in incorrect uniform.

Message from uniform suppliers for academic year 2022/23

Our uniform suppliers Bergoni have asked us to share the following information with you:

Please can parents/carers come in or order as soon as possible preferably by the end of July.

We will also be continuing the great success of our fitting appointments which are already filling up. This is where a parent can book a time slot for the fitting room, skip the queue and purchase or order uniform on the day.

Please follow @bergoniemb on Facebook for important messages through the coming months.

Uniform grant

The new School Uniform Grant opens for applications on 1 July 2022, ready for the academic year that commences in September 2022.  Again, the grant is available to all year groups from Reception to Year 11.  Learners have to be currently eligible for free school meals (eFSM) to qualify for the grant.  Those with only transitionally protected eFSM are not eligible.  LAC children are eligible regardless of eFSM status.  Asylum seekers are as per eFSM children. If a parent/carer does not have a bank account, then the school can purchase uniform on their behalf and then invoice us for reimbursement.

Further information can be found here https://www.swansea.gov.uk/schooluniformgrant

School uniform recycling programme

In a bid to become an even more Eco friendly and sustainable school we have launched our very own Bont Comp Second Hand Uniform Shop. Further information can be accessed by clicking on this link: https://pontcomp.co.uk/2022/05/12/second-hand-shop/

Thank you again for your valued support.

Yours sincerely,

Mr. Christopher Mitchell
