Monday 20th June 2022

Dear Parent/Carer,

From Tuesday 21st June pupils will be allowed to wear their school badged PE shorts (or skorts) to school due to the forecast warm weather. This uniform adaptation will apply until further notice. However, every other part of the school uniform remains. This means that polo shirts must be white with the school badge (not PE black versions) and footwear must be black and polishable. In the past pupils have mistakenly seen this change as a signal that any footwear can be worn, footwear remains black and polishable (not mesh or canvas trainers).

Therefore, permitted uniform will be:

  • School white polo shirt worn with trousers/PE shorts/PE skorts/skirts.
  • No change to footwear (e.g. no white trainers) or leggings (trousers need to have a zip or button fastening).

Another point to note, from the school’s Uniform Policy, is where pupils occasionally transgress regarding jewellery. The only jewellery permitted is one pair of stud earrings to be worn in each ear lobe. More details can be found here: https://pontcomp.co.uk/uniform

Generally, pupils are very well presented on arrival at school, which means less time is spent on having to contact home or arrange detentions. If pupils arrive in school in incorrect uniform parents/carers may be contacted to bring the correct uniform to school.

Recycled (second-hand) uniform can be purchased from school for a very low cost. Please contact the school if you require any support regarding school uniform. Your support in this matter is appreciated as it underpins the ethos, culture and standards in school.

Yours sincerely,

Mr. C. Mitchell
