Re: Mock Examinations and Key Dates

Dear Parent/Carer,

The attached mock examination timetable and controlled assessment dates will help you support your child over the forthcoming months.

All Year 11 pupils will receive their first progress check and interim report in November. The interim reports will be sent out to parents and carers in the usual way. We will be holding the Year 11 parents’ evening on Monday 22nd November. However, we are not able to hold the parents’ evening at school as we usually do. This year we will be holding a virtual parents’ evening on the date above and you will be able to book slots to speak directly to your child’s teachers during the course of the evening. Further details on the virtual parents’ evening and how it will work will be sent to parents and carers during the first week of November.

Some important dates to be aware of:

Progress Check 1 Interim Reports:  w/c Monday 1st November 2021

Year 11 Virtual Parents’ Evening:  Monday 22nd November 2021

Internal Mock Examinations:  29th November to 16th December 2021 (see next page)

Year 11 Full Reports: w/c Monday 24th January 2022

Year 11 Revision Open Evening: Wednesday 2nd March 2022

GCSE external examinations: 16th May to 29th June 2022 (provisional dates)

As it stands, pupils will be issued with their individual examination timetables, for the summer examinations, during the week commencing Monday 28th February 2022. This will be an opportunity for you to check and query any examination entries. All examination changes need to be made by Friday 11th March 2022 and any amendments after this date will incur a cost.

We anticipate that GCSE examinations will take place in the summer term of 2022. The purpose of holding the mock examinations at the end of this term is to prepare our pupils for examinations next summer. However, as part of our contingency planning and in the event of examinations being cancelled again next year, we may use outcomes from the mock examinations as evidence of attainment if the production of centre determined grades is subsequently required.

Please contact the school if you require any further clarification. Your continued support is valued and appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Mr. A. Owens

Deputy Headteacher
