Thursday 8th September 2021

Dear Parent/Carer,

I am writing to congratulate the vast majority of pupils on the excellent standards of uniform we have witnessed since pupils have returned to school. It is clear evidence of how our strong home-school links can continue to keep standards high in our school. There are five points that I would like to draw your attention to below:

Delays in receiving uniform

We are aware that some orders from our uniform supplier Bergoni have been delayed. If this is the case for your child, please can you communicate this to your child’s form tutor via a written note or phone call.

Wearing of PE kit

Having reviewed the number of pupils and capacity of our changing rooms we are now able to safely accommodate all pupils changing as required. Therefore, from Monday 13th September PE kits should no longer be worn to school.

Facial Piercings

Please ensure that your child does not wear a facial piercing to school. In a case of a pupil arriving in school with a piercing they will be asked to remove the piercing before being allowed to return to class. Parents/carers will be contacted in this eventuality and may be asked to collect the piercing if the child has brought the piercing to school previously.

Leggings

Please note that leggings must not be worn in place of school trousers. For acceptable style trousers please see our uniform policy here: https://pontcomp.co.uk/uniform/

False nails

Pupils should not wear false fingernails to school. They are a hazard to themselves and others e.g. playing sports and physical exercise; practical work in design and technology or science. Parents may be requested to collect their child to remove false nails.

Thank you again for your valued support. If you have any issues in relation to uniform please contact your child’s form tutor/Progress Manager in the first instance. If you have a more specific query please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely,

Mr. Christopher Mitchell
