1 cake board (or lid etc covered with tin foil)
1or 2 teaspoons cocoa powder or (3 teaspoons drinking chocolate)
4oz/100g margarine/butter
8oz/200g icing sugar
Decorations for top- hundreds and thousands/ chocolate santas/ silver balls

75g/3oz butter
1 small egg
275g/10oz plain flour
50g/2oz syrup
100g/4oz soft brown sugar or alternative
1 level teaspoon baking powder
1 dessertspoon cinnamon or mixed spice or any Christmas spice
100g/4oz icing sugar
Selection of decorations for top of biscuits

YEAR 9 CHRISTMAS COOKING – Christmas chocolate pudding cakes

175g self raising flour
175g unsalted butter
175g caster sugar
3 eggs beaten
5 level tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
40g glace cherries, finely chopped/ chocolate chips
40g pecan nuts (optional) finely chopped
2 teaspoons vanilla essence
Icing
250g icing sugar
1 teaspoon custard powder (optional)
6 cherries halved
Bay leaves (optional)
