17th October 2019
Every year, an end of year Prom is organised for all our Year 11 pupils to mark the end of their education at Pontarddulais Comprehensive School.
In order to have the privilege of attending the Prom, it is made clear to everyone that any pupil who is externally excluded from school will not be allowed to attend the Prom.
Details of the event along with cost of a ticket will be confirmed and sent home in a letter, later in the academic year. However, Year 11 will have the opportunity to participate in a fundraising event to assist them with the cost of their ticket (approximately £30). All Year 11 pupils are invited to raise sponsorship money for wearing fancy dress to school on Friday 25th October. Lessons will run as normal on this day and your child will be required to come to school prepared for their timetabled lessons.
The sponsorship money raised by your child will be their own to put towards paying for their prom ticket, this then reducing their overall cost. I urge you not to spend too much money on a costume and encourage your child to be creative when producing their costume.
The prom takes place after the GCSE examinations are over. It is a memorable event in the lives of your children. Our aim is that 100% of our pupils will attend this event.
