Amendments to the School uniform

Assessment for learning

Dear Parent/Carer,

Amendments to the School uniform from September 2019

I am writing to inform you of the outcome of our recent consultation with parents, pupils and governors with regard to changes to our school uniform. We are aware and understand concerns that some variations of school shoes can be costly to parents and carers. We feel that it is important that pupils have safe, weatherproof and comfortable footwear that is affordable and durable. As a school, we believe that our high standards of uniform reflect our school’s ethos and culture. Taking these factors into account, we have made the following amendments to our uniform:

Trousers – Black, plain and tailored. Trousers must have a zip or button fastening. Legging/jegging style trousers are not permitted.

Shoes – Black, polishable shoes or all black, polishable trainers. No mesh or canvas trainers. No colour to appear on footwear including coloured laces/soles/branding.

These changes will operate from September 2019. Please refer to our school website for further information or contact your child’s Progress Manager regarding any queries you may have in relation to school uniform.

Yours sincerely

Miss R. Thomas
Assistant Headteacher
